Actually I think it does since it has an Intel Core i3 @ 2.4 GHz, Intel HD Graphics 620, 6 GB RAM, and a 1TB Hard drive which is enough to run both games although TS3 doesn't support newer Intel processors but unlike macOS, the game will run. Mac is different than pc with the sims 4.

Is it worth upgrading Dell Inspirion N5110 with New SSD and RAM? Thread starter Ankit_N Start date Jun 29, 2015 You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites should upgrade or use an alternative browser. 1 I am planning to buy new laptop next quarter but till then I need a smooth working laptop for work. I am currently using Dell Inspirion N5110. its too slow, halts often, its really painful to use any browser with more than 5 tabs and huge heating issue. so my question is,is it worth getting ssd? i am looking at this model right now. Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB Sata-III MZ-75E250BW 3-D Vertical Internal SSD from ebay. costs around $120. are there any better solution? or 120 gb $75 version will work? i already got couple of external HD's for data storage. do i also need to get RAM? my system ram is 3gb + 1gb vram. but i dont want to upgrade ram unless its necessary. i am planning to use he ssd with new laptop in future but ram upgrade will go waste. Brunostako Jun 29, 2015 If don't want or need anything from the newer laptop's hardware, like the AMD APUs with very good iGPUs or Intel's lower power consumption, upgrade your laptop. Samsung 850 series SSD, excellent choice. Add 2x4GB or 2x8GB of RAM and your good to go. Dec 16, 2013 2,349 1 12,960 2 What CPU does your laptop has? A SSD would be a great upgrade, you won't regret it. About the RAM, is your OS 32 or 64 bit? 3 i am using intel i5-2410m cpu ghz, 64 bit Dec 16, 2013 2,349 1 12,960 4 If don't want or need anything from the newer laptop's hardware, like the AMD APUs with very good iGPUs or Intel's lower power consumption, upgrade your laptop. It is a Dell 14R 5420 with a i5-3210M, i took out the 750 GB HDD and the 4GB RAM module and installed a 120 GB SSD now i want a 256 GB or more and 2x4GB Kingston HyperX PnP 1866MHz RAM now i want 16GB. It was a great decision, loved the results. I one of those guys that fills the browser with tons of tabs, the extra RAM was a most have. 7 thats sweet. i hope 8gb ram will do the charm for me. i really dont want to spend on new laptop yet. laptop prices are 40-50% higher in my country. ven the top machines have specs which were already in US market 9 months ago. 8 Although this topic is old i want to add this note for anyone who read it .. The Inspiron N5110 have a 8GB limitation so you can't put 2x8G you can however install 2x4G=8G Thanks - UPDATE After reading several other topics i decided to give it a try. I have bought a "PNY - 2-Pack 16GB PC3-12800L DDR3 SoDIMM Laptop Memory Kit - Green" Module Number "MN16GK2D31600LV" from BestBuy for about $55 $60 with tax i said to myself if it didn't work i can return it since BestBuy offer 15 days as their return policy! Anyway Long Story short it WORKED. My Laptop is currently running the 16GB without any problem! Yes Dell said the Max is 8GB but it seems like they are WRONG! I have also bought a used CPU "i7-2860QM" which is little better then my current CPU "i7-2630QM" and i will receive it on Friday and test it hopefully it will work normally! I also have fixed my high CPU temperature and will install a 100GB SSD as the primary and my current 500GB HDD will be secondary instead of the DVDRoom and that will give it even better performance. With all of that i will be able to use this Laptop for another two years I hope this comment help other people ^_^ 9 [quotemsg=18174086,0,2273973]Although this topic is old i want to add this note for anyone who read it .. Which is using 100GB SSD as my primary and 500GB HD in the CD-Room as Secondary. ^_^ 11 [quotemsg=18174086,0,2273973]Although this topic is old i want to add this note for anyone who read it .. I have been trying to do my homework on upgrading my laptop. I'm not ready to give this laptop up to go to a newer model. I have to much invested and would like to keep it as long as i possibly can. = Thanks for all the amazing information!!!!!! Also I just purchased an "INTEL WIRELESS-N 7260 WIFI CARD 7260HMW" Wifi card to replace the stock one. I wish i would have bought the AC edition but this will suffice for now. Will post my findings after Wednesday Core i5-2450 Nvidia 525M 8G Corsair Vengence 2x4 - Will be buying the 2x8 kit since others have gotten it to go to 16G 240G PNY 2111 SSD 1TB WD SSHD secondary drive. bought the conversion kit that turned the DVD drive to a hdd bay link for the HDD caddy. it works perfectly!! 12 [quotemsg=18429964,0,2306893][quotemsg=18174086,0,2273973]Although this topic is old i want to add this note for anyone who read it .. Hi, did you upgrade your laptop to i7-2860QM ? I have very similar specs on my dell inspiron n5110 laptop and I'm thinking of upgrading to i7-2860QM too. i5-2450M cpu, 6GB RAM 2+4 - gonna install 12 or 16 gigs but it would be good to know if anyone tried 32gigs of RAM or more than 16? you know dell says max 8gb but people use 16gb. from CPU side i5s doesn't support more than 16gb, but i7s are supporting. So if motherboard can handle it, why not trying 32 gigs. 500gb hdd - ordered 256gb ssd samsung 850 pro will put it into optical disk drive space. I took ODD out. and use it with hddcaddy. also I'm using hackintosh with custom bios. And where did you get i7-2860QM from? i cannot find it from any reliable website? 13 [quotemsg=18429964,0,2306893][quotemsg=18174086,0,2273973]Although this topic is old i want to add this note for anyone who read it .. Hi Mostwanted12354, Sorry for the late response i said i will respond to you the next day and forget about it. YES, the CPU Intel i7-2860QM worked great on my laptop however my last CPU wasn't that bad at all "i7-2630QM" so the different was hardly noticeable .. however the temperature was big issue even thow that both CPUs have a 45 W TDP so make sure that your CPU FAN can handle that! The SSD was BIG change! I bough a Samsung - 850 EVO 250GB and it work GREAT! The RAM didn't provide any additional speed as expected but it will allow for running more programs at the same time Virtualization will benefits the most like running VMware Virtual Machines. Now one last note i forget about it when i was upgrading my laptop if i thought about it from the start i would have done things differently.. which is that you are limited to the Screen resolution ONLY HD you can't go to FHD.. which is getting really annoying since there is so many games/apps that assume that everyone have at least FHD 1080p and won't look good on HD 720p! so keep that in mind .. you maybe better buying a new laptop after all and one of the best gaming budget laptop i found is the Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming Edition will cost $1,299 from Dell or $1,000 from Amazon, BestBuy or Walmart During Sales. 4K resolution , 16 GB RAM , 4GB GPU , i7-6700HQ 6th Gen. CPU , 128 SSD + 1GB Hard , Touch screen Maybe spending $1,000 on New laptop better then spending $300 to upgrade the old one note that my only issue is the Resolution! Best of Luck 14 [quotemsg=18585038,0,2182012][quotemsg=18429964,0,2306893][quotemsg=18174086,0,2273973]Although this topic is old i want to add this note for anyone who read it .. Unless you are really sure you need it, it won't give you any benefits. To be Honestly i didn't get any benefits from upgrading my 8GB to 16GB SO FAR as i didn't need to use VMware the last few months however sometimes i do during my study and it will come handy when i do that. My average use is 4GB!!! Best of Luck Similar threads Advertising Cookies Policies Privacy Term & Conditions
